Minet Conservation Association
The Association was founded in 1979, originally as an amenity society to campaign to prevent the demolition of St James' Church on Knatchbull Road and for the establishment of a Conservation Area based on the Minet Estate and the area around Myatts Fields Park, Camberwell. Nowadays the Association works to foster community spirit in the Minet Conservation Area, to maintain and expand local amenities and to conserve the unique character and historical features of the area.
The Conservation Area follows closely the original boundaries of the Minet Estate that was planned and built by William Minet between 1870 and 1900. The Estate's borders are Akerman Road, Lothian Road, Camberwell New Road, the railway line, Paulet Road and Lilford Road.
